Some plans for the blog

The website is recently created using Quarto. For two years I thought the only manageable way to build a website is through Jekyll.

It came across my mind that there is a package Bookdown by Xie Yihui1 that I learned about when I was still an active statistics student using RStudio. Since this could potentially help me convert my FMTP to a webpage version, I started investigating while proctoring students’ exams. Naturally that led me to the newer Quarto, and hence the everything you see here.

Regarding the future content of this blog, my current guess is that there is most likely going to be math, classical music, philosophy2, and the golden-age Japanese animation. (Music and animation were also the subject of my writing on Chinese platforms.) Clearly this is not comprehensive, as I can see myself talking about audio conversion, music metadata, and \(\LaTeX\)-based typesetting software already.

Stay tuned for future interesting content and I hope this will become a consistent motivation for me as well. The posts will be in English, but Chinese and Japanese will be quoted for technical terms.

Footnotes

  1. All Chinese and Japanese names will respect the family name first order in all blogs.↩︎

  2. Only perhaps, it has been quite a while since I did actual philosophy. Philosophy of mathematics is most likely be the only thing covered here↩︎
